I’m in Northern Thailand at the Elephant Nature Park, together with my boyfriend and 11-year old daughter. This is Elephant Heaven and an oasis for each living animal and human being. No elephant rides in this park but pure and fun interaction with the elephants by feeding and bathing them. The founder of this park is a Thai woman named Lekh, which means ‘small’ in Thai. As tiny as she may be, she has a huge, gigantic heart for each living creature. She takes care of the orphaned, abused and blind elephants in these parts of the world. Whenever there’s an elephant in need in Thailand or across its’ borders, the person to call is this incredible woman who is maybe small in size but possesses an elephant soul and mind. The elephants in the park are obviously very fond of her as they play and run towards her the moment she sets foot in the park. I even suspect they consider her as one of their own.
